Scrolling Twitter in a product manor as always, I came across the following tweet that stood out.

St. Brown reached 1k after this tweet being posted

Through 14 games only 5 receivers have over 1,000 yards and one of them being a non-star caliber name. I thought to myself, no way this was the case a decade ago.

Looking back at the 2012 & 2013 NFL season, we can see the league was much more star driven and top heavy. In the 2012 season there was 82 players with over 400 receiving yards. To compare that to today, through 14 games over 98 players have already reached the 400 yard marker.

It seems a conclusion can be made that the offense is more evenly spread out incorporating more players than the past. The average talent level of the receiver has gone up while the star receiver has become a lot harder to come across.
