Wembanyama Hype Spreads To His Future Teammates

Victor Wembanyama is being proclaimed as the greatest prospect of all time, with some television personalities saying he would go over 18 year old LeBron James. The San Antonio Spurs emerged as the winners of the NBA Draft Lottery, securing the first overall pick for the upcoming draft. The Spurs' victory in the lottery comes as a welcome boost for the franchise, which has a storied history of success and a reputation for astute player development.

The Spurs last season ranked 26th in overall attendance and had no nationally televised games. This is all going to change with Victor, it will likely be the biggest opening night debut since LeBron with numerous games nationally televised. This is not some secret either, as people will be tuned into the Spurs for Victor. With all eyes on San Antonio, how are the other up & comers doing in San Antonio?

Keldon Johnson, unironically has become one of the better rookies from the 2019 Draft class despite being a late first rounder. Johnson's skill set is multi-faceted. He is an excellent scorer, capable of attacking the rim with explosiveness or knocking down shots from the perimeter. His athleticism allows him to finish strong at the rim and create opportunities for himself and his teammates. Johnson's versatility extends to the defensive end as well, where his athleticism and tenacity make him a formidable defender. Vassell is the second best Spurs young player and its not remotely close either. Standing at 6'5" with a wiry frame, Vassell possesses a combination of athleticism, length, and defensive instincts that make him a disruptive force on the court. Offensively, Vassell has shown an elite shooting stroke and a smooth scoring touch. He is known for his ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc, making him a valuable floor spacer for his team. As a rookie Devin averaged 5 points, and in his third season upped his PPG to 18! Vassell also experienced a Wemby bump.
