April 13th, 2021 the Nuggets were down 111-104 with 50 seconds left when disaster struck. Murray suffered what appeared to be a noncontact injury, he fell to the ground in pain. Grabbing his left knee and punching the court with his hand after trying to split two Warriors defenders on a drive. On the team bus on the way to the airport, Murray asked coach Malone; "Are you guys going to trade me? I’m damaged goods." Coach Malone hugged him and said, "Hell no. Your ours. We love you. We’re going to help you get back, and you’re going to be a better player for it.”

Denver Nuggets oust Lakers to reach NBA Finals for first time

Two years later Denver made the NBA finals in large part to Murray's historic performances along side 2x MVP Jokic. Going up against a Lakers team which gave Curry fits, Klay struggled mightily, and made Poole unplayable. Murray became the first player to ever average 30 points on 50-40-90 shooting in a Conference Finals.

Jamal in totality is averaging 28 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals per game. Despite not being an all-star, Murray has sure played like one and has outplayed all guards not named Devin Booker so far.

As a result of Murray's play, over the last three months his market has grown rapidly. Murray taking his game to the next level, has caused a surge in demand for his cards. Assuming the Nuggets play the Heat, he will have to go against one of the greatest basketball minds we have seen in Coach Spo. That could prove to be a challenge but with how he's playing now, you can only hope to slow him down from his historic pace.
