If you are new to the hobby you have likely seeing the following cards, but you likely do not know the history behind them and if you do there's a chance you got burned on one. The 2007 rookie premiere autographs are extremely sought after with the loaded fan favorite rookie class. Hall of Famers and all time greats in Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and Marshawn Lynch most notably headline this class.

Above is a real copy and a fake copy, while the exact origins of where these fakes came from cannot be 100% confirmed. Defunct forums and blogs from 2008-2010 when these started to surface can give us an idea as to when this all started.

June 19th, 2009: Sports Cards Uncensored Blog Post:

"Unfortunately, as of today, one of the more prominent sellers in the eBay world, Wolverine24 has also started selling them. In case you dont know who I am talking about, he is a seller of many high end cards, as well as many fake patches, trimmed cards, and now fake autos."

To this day, over 15 years later these cards are still frequently selling on eBay being passed off onto a naive buyer. It does not help that grading companies seem to still be slabbing these in the case of SGC, Beckett, and PSA.
