Super Bowl Market Reaction, One Week Later

One of the most opinionated Super Bowls where people with no dog in the race had a seemingly passionate hatred or love for both teams. Mahomes and Purdy were at the head of both franchises which was a very unpleasing passing game at times for both teams. One full week later, where at both of the quarterbacks markets? Mahomes is up and Purdy is down, not a shock to hear even for someone not in cards... However it is surprising how insignificant the overall percentage changes are on both sides.

New King of New York

Mark Cuban said his biggest mistake as the owner of the Dallas Mavericks was getting rid of Steve Nash in 2004. Cuban later revealed; “That’s my biggest mistake ever. Nash hated me for a long time.” Cuban thought that Nash could no longer play at a high level, which ultimate led to... Steve Nash winning two MVP's in the following 3 years after departing from Dallas. The Mavericks were still successful solely thanks to Dirk being one of the greatest players of all time. However from 2005-the res

Ring or Bust for Aging Stars

The hobby is an interesting place to navigate, many post across forums of experienced collectors and people with relatively no hobby experience question why what sells for what. Why does an unproven rookie sell for more than a proven hall of fame player or current max contract star? The answer is fairly complex and no answer can be given in short format. However in basketball there is a ring culture unlike any other sport, the NFL nor MLB has such an emphasis on rings. League MVP's and players

The 2023-24 Bowman U Sleeper NBA Prospect In The Hobby

The 2023 Bowman University Chrome Draft was built on the hype of Bronny James (USC), Rob Dillingham (UK), Matas Buzelis (G-League), DJ Wagner (cover athlete, UK), and Isaiah Collier (USC). However, all 3 prospects have been extremely underwhelming through their collegiate/amateur careers. NBADraft.net and Yahoo Sports 2024 mock draft's most notably now have Bronny James going undrafted but most notably Colorado freshman Cody Williams #1 overall. Cody Williams despite being ranked as the #1 pros

Late Market Reaction: Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson market had been completely stagnant from the start of the season up until the first week in January. This is all despite being the best team in the NFL record wise and in the MVP hunt alongside Purdy. 9/3/23 - 1/1/24 Lamar saw a negative market gain despite his steady and consistent play all year long. Now that he is consensus MVP, people all of a sudden are eager to buy his cards. Lamar Jackson over the last month but specifically in the last few weeks has seen major market gain

Will The LeBron Autograph Market Garnett & Barkley?

LeBron James is the biggest name in all of modern basketball and it's not really debatable either. While many things surrounding LeBron's 20 year Upper Deck departure for Fanatics are unclear. We know for a fact that it is an exclusive partnership and autographs will be in products as soon as the end of the month. However it is a well known fact LeBron James is not a fan of signing autographs, for fans or for companies. It doesn't matter he just does not like signing period. Without the license

MVBiid Rookie Prizm's Rise

Joel Embed has had a fascinating career, one in which he was written off as a bust to back to back mvp possibly. After missing his first two seasons with a foot injury, it was a death sentence for any 7 footer it seemed. However, Embiid has come back better than ever, looking to reclaim his second mvp. Embiid ranks #1 on the NBA's mvp ladder and has for over a month now and unlike last year it isn't all that controversial. He also ranks #1 in odds for Vegas betting and Basketball-Reference. Em

Lamar Jackson is the MVP favorite but not a hobby favorite.

Lamar Jackson just likely nailed the last nail in the coffin for the mvp race after obliterating the Dolphins in a 5 touchdown day. This came after the Ravens defense embarrassed Brock Purdy with the Ravens offense taking full advantage of short field scenarios. In back to back weeks, the Ravens not only beat the #1 NFC team and #2 AFC team, they thrashed them. However looking at Lamar's market over the last 6 months it is down overall. Many would consider this very surprising, all things consi

Anfernee Simoms, A Certified Bucket

Anfernee Simoms ever since coming into the league has been one of those guys people have clamored about offensively. He was just 18 coming into the league and rightfully so did not play much. It did not help he was behind a generational short guard scoring duo in CJ and Lillard for years. Simons has always been dragged into the Lillard drama, as he was seen as the ultimate replacement for him. The 6'3" guard has a 6'9" wingspan allows him to play a lot bigger than his frame. Quarterbacks Markets After Career Ending Injuries

This season has been awful in regards to players health, specifically the quarterback position more than any years prior. Anthony Richardson, Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson, Kirk Cousins, and Daniel Jones all suffered season ending injuries in the last month. These were huge losses for the NFL as all but Richardson had Super Bowl aspirations and many viewed as at the least playoff teams. Other quarterbacks have also suffered injuries causing them to miss weeks including; Ryan Tannehill (ankle), Jimm
